Granite Lane Stable offers a customized service to finding horses. We are active members of the equine community helping people buy or sell horses. Our staff has valuable experience and professionalism and we are known to build relationships of respect, trust and reliability.

Director of Operations: Sonja Somero

Sonja has an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and 18+yrs of experience in the equine industry. Starting out as a young girl taking lessons, doing Pony Club & successfully competing in the hunters & equitation classes locally. She then worked as a stablehand at Mead Brook Equestrian Center for several years, caring for horses & hosting events. A certificate in Surgical Technologies where she worked in the operating room at local hospital. Since then has combined her passion for horses & business, purchasing sale "projects" every few years. Training under the supervision of professionals. From there she focused on finding the perfect match for these horses! Realizing that the best pair is when the horse is doing what it thrives at. Each horse has strengths and weaknesses, and she believes strongly that the horse chooses it's own path. Too often riders try push a horse in the wrong direction when clearly the horse just isn't enjoying it's role. She believes it's an integral part of the process to listen to what the horse is telling you. Each horse will "take" to certain things better than others based off of breed, personality, confirmation, and age. Her experience has trained her to ask the right questions when purchasing a horse, in addition to looking for the best price, correct confirmation & temparament for said discipline.
